The week ahead

Monday

Court was not in session Friday so Trump could attend his son Barron’s high school graduation. Closing arguments could begin as early as Tuesday.

Tuesday
Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky and Oregon will hold their primaries, and voters in California’s 20th Congressional District will head to the polls in a special runoff election to fill the vacant seat in Congress left by former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Friday
Friday is the traditional getaway day for Memorial Day weekend, although many hit the road a day earlier. AAA projects 38.4 million people will travel by car over Memorial Day weekend, the highest number for that holiday since AAA began tracking in 2000.

Saturday
Will the third time be the charm for Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft? A May 17 launch was scrubbed after teams found a small helium leak in the Starliner’s service module. The original May 6 launch of the mission, dubbed the Crew Flight Test, was aborted when engineers found an issue and stopped the countdown. If successful, the May 25 launch could be the final major milestone before NASA deems Boeing’s spacecraft ready for routine operations as part of the federal agency’s Commercial Crew Program.

President Biden will deliver the commencement address at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
